After several years working as a family and occupational medicine physician in a small town, Dr. Hart came to believe that compassionate, patient-centered care is essential to improving the health of entire communities.
He expanded this idea by co-founding a company that created healthcare clinics directly at employers’ workplaces. These clinics gave employees convenient access to quality healthcare while providing doctors with the resources and data they needed to deliver affordable, personalized care. The program improved employee health and productivity while also lowering healthcare costs for employers.
The company quickly grew into one of the largest onsite healthcare programs in the country, serving millions of employees nationwide. After selling the company several years ago, Dr. Hart has continued working on innovative ways to improve the U.S. healthcare system.
Dr. Hart believes that proactive, value-based care—supported by modern technology and data—can improve patient health while reducing healthcare costs for employers. At the same time, he continues to work part-time as a family physician because he believes technology should support, not replace, the human side of medicine.
As a primary care physician, Dr. Hart believes that the art of medicine is just as important as the science of medicine.
